Join a tour of the Mortuary Chapel and then hear about the feisty, whimsical and sometimes wild characters who have been laid to rest in the oldest Catholic cemetery in Australia.
Can’t make the tour? Don’t worry! We welcome you to visit and amble through the Cemetery to learn about some of the characters laid to rest through stories researched by the Friends of St Patrick’s Cemetery and made available to the public for the first time through on site QR codes.
Parramatta Open is a ticketed event presented by Sydney Open in conjunction with city of Parramatta Council.

Foundation Day

Foundation Day is a Council-run annual , free event that celebrates Parramatta’s pivotal and rich history, in particular the commencement of agricultural projects in this area in November 1788.
The family-friendly festival typically features historical tours, live entertainment, market stalls, and hands-on workshops.
Come and visit the Friends of St Patrick’s Cemetery stall along with other local historic groups to learn more about what’s happening in your neighbourhood.
